Our beloved Coach Dee has retired! We have taken gymnastics (or "joonastics", as Emily spells it) at Positively Gymnastics with Coach Dee for three years. The girls have absolutely LOVED going there each week. Coach Dee is a wonderful teacher who inspires, encourages, and builds confidence in little gymnasts. She truly had a gift for what she did!

We are now in search of a new gym. And we will soon find out if it was really gymnastics that they love so much, or rather their spectacular Coach Dee (maybe both!). We tried a new gym this week. It is actually right here in town, which would be really nice for us! It is an actual gymnasium with gymnasts all over the place practicing their amazing skills. The girls' classes took place right in the midst of all of the "big kids" doing their gravity-defying flips. They really thought that was neat, and it made them feel big too. I told them if they kept with it and practiced really hard, one day they could do that too! They were also awe-struck by all the shiny leotards they saw that looked just like the Women's Olympic team's uniforms. : ) We're due for some new gym-wear....maybe we can find some shiny size 6x's!
Here are some of our favorite gymnastics shots from our days with Coach Dee:
2005 - Emily, Meg & our friend, Rebecca showing off their medals
2005 - Emily perfects her back bend
2005 - Meg does a routine keeping the beat with sticks
2006 - Coach Dee helps Emily on the bar with her pretty pointed toes
2006 - Meg does the hoola hoop : )
2007 - Emily jumps on the balance beam
2006 - Meg is a monkey!

2008 - Emily had a beautiful handstand and became a member of the "Handstand Club"
2008 - Meg works the beam

2008 - Proud Emily, Meg & Coach Dee with trophies

Fun photos! :)
My girls want to take gymnastics. The older three were in a class for a year a few years ago. They'll have to decide between dance and ballet though. Tough choices!
Hold Me Jesus is one of my all time favorites! :)
Happy Birthday, Amy! We're thinking about you and hoping that you have a very special day!
