This year we had our church Fall Fest during the afternoon. It was such a gorgeous day! We had a GREAT turn out! And the bonus was that our evening was free, so the girls got to go trick-or-treating in our neighborhood for the first time ever! Meg dressed as a kimono princess (whatever that is! she just liked the costume!), and Emily went as a Hollywood starlet.
We took the dogs in their hotdog costumes. Wasn't sure how that was gonna go, but they were really well behaved. They ended up being an attraction themselves that the little guys stood in line to get their chance to pet! Emily actually chose not to do a lot of the games because she preferred to hang out with Daddy & her doggies. So Meg and I played a bunch of games and got lots of candy!
Later that night, Daddy, Meg & Hurley did the trick-or-treating thing. Emily decided she didn't "feel comfortable" going. I think she didn't want to have to speak up and say "Trick or treat". And she's getting kind of old, so no big deal. She was a little disappointed when she saw how much candy Meg came home with though! Her bucket was filled to the brim! I think we'll go through it tonight and pick out some to send to school. The PTA is sending non-chocolate candy and new socks to the troops. Wonderful idea! We don't need so much candy anyway!
